DeployLX Software Protection System

Beta Limit

Rules Tab

The Beta Limit indicates that the protected software is still in beta and may not be used after a certain point.

The beta period is defined by the child limits. Typically a Time limit is added to the Beta Limit to cause the beta to expire on a certain date. If no child limits are added then the beta never expires and the form will never be shown.

How is the Beta Limit Enforced?

When the license is validated DeployLX checks the child limits to see if they are still valid. When the child limits are valid or there are no child limits then the Beta limit is considered valid. If the child limits are not valid then the beta window will be displayed informing the user that the beta has expired.

When the beta expires the form will be displayed to notify the user. However the limit will still be considered invalid which will result in a license validation failure to prevent the software from being used past the expiration.

Configuring the Beta Period

The behavior of the time period is defined by the child limits of the Beta Limit. By default a Time limit of set to expire 90 days from today.

Add other limits to define the terms of the beta period. If the child limits are valid, then the user may continue to use the software. After the beta has expired they will not be able to use the protected software anymore.

Customizing The Forms

The forms may be customized or completely replaced to fit your specific application style.

Customize the colors and icons of the forms by selecting the Theme button from the License Tab on the Ribbon.

See the How to Create a Custom Form topic for details on replacing or customizing the form.
